Enjoy everything that a classic style has to offer while getting the best of modern design at the same time. That’s exactly what this stunning white kitchen cabinet project accomplishes – it’s truly the best of both worlds! We were so excited once we saw these photos that we had to highlight the entire project designed by Inspiring Interiors, lead by the talented Deb Williamson. Continue reading to get the cabinet details and be inspired by this stunning space.

The Cabinetry:

The kitchen features a bright white aesthetic with pops of neutral color. This palette brings a curated and cohesive look to the room. It also allowed us to get creative with the cabinetry. We mixed and matched a variety of styles throughout the space. There are both full and partial overlay doors, raised panel, and slab styles. We particularly adore the glass paneled upper cabinets with an interior light, which you can see on either side of the custom hood range. Adding lighting within your cabinetry is a great way to display special china or decor, and it brings an unparalleled level of sophistication to any cabinet.

The Customizations:

Deb’s client was a cooking fanatic. So they needed to create something that wasn’t only beautiful, but functional enough for a chef! This meant each shelf, drawer, and pullout was specifically designed with the homeowners’ ease of use in mind. Our Smart Organization products were used throughout the space, for kitchen organization like no other. We particularly adore the spice pullouts on either side of the stove, we call this a chef’s must-have! Finally, the custom hood makes a beautiful centerpiece for the room and cabinetry. While the concept is simple, the details are precise and flawless.

The Pantry:

Oh no, the kitchen doesn’t stop there. As you can see from the upper-left image below, there’s a butler’s pantry in this dream kitchen! It’s the perfect place for food prep while having guests over to keep the rest of the space tidy. It matches the beautiful design of the main kitchen, mixing cabinetry styles in a gorgeous white opaque finish. The added matte black hardware and a shiny black countertop brings a stunning contrast and drama to this otherwise classic look. Well, what do you think? We’re calling this kitchen a winner!

Experts say don’t expect millions of people to continue to work from home; expect tens of millions. The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically shifted how businesses and workers view working remotely. A recent MIT Study found that nearly 34% of those workplace commuters were now working from home. Factor in an additional 14% of respondents that said they were already working from home and you are looking at nearly half of the U.S. workforce getting their work done remotely.

Now, more than ever, the home office work space is a priority for many. Homeowners who have been mulling over various home projects will begin to prioritize a home office. Some factors to consider:

  • What type of work do I do? A detailed architect that needs ample room for large laid out plans, or a software designer that will have to find somewhere to house his upgraded desktop? Now is the time to perfectly tailor your own work space.
  • Are there multiple people who will be working remotely? Are multiple work spaces needed and how does that fit within the context of the home?
  • Will childcare be a factor? For many, childcare has become a high hurdle to navigate as daycares shutter with the continuing pandemic. For many, working from home isn’t just work, but a constant juggling act between caregiver and employee. Does your new workspace need to incorporate a play area for a child?
  • How do you want to show your personality in your next videoconference or Zoom meeting? Sleek and modern with full-access slab doors or a rustic cottage with our Reclaimed Patina finish. Now is your chance to make your work space a reflection of you!

In order to help break down some of these questions, attached here is a copy of the new Woodland Works idea book. We have put together predesigned, home office ideas in a variety of styles and layouts. The idea book .pdf includes renderings, plan views and 2020 ordering. Ask your dedicated Woodland dealer to log on to WoodlandCabinetry.com to find saved renderings and cabinet lists. Convert to your specific door style and finish and send it in for immediate processing!

In addition to kitchens and baths, now we can promote stylish home office configurations for work and storage. Woodland Cabinetry dealers are in a great position to offer fully customizable work spaces that are highly functional and affordable.

Woodland’s take on the design process with an at-home and engaged customer

Custom Color Opaque. Photo and Design: @livcompanies

2020 began with an optimistic view of the building and remodeling landscape, highlighted by increased traffic and activity from our dealers and an overall buzz from our customer base. COVID-19 has shifted this landscape, and proper social distancing and “stay at home” protocols instituted across the country are making it difficult for our customers to have a “typical” design consultation experience with our dedicated dealers.

We’re here to help facilitate an efficient yet personalized design process via online communication, and we’ve identified ways to work with our dealer partners and end customers to better navigate this new obstacle together.

  • Use the Woodland Cabinetry Design Planner and the Woodland Cabinetry Scratch Pad to begin the design process. This planner contains insightful questions for any consumer, prompting discussion around your ideal project outcome while informing the designer in the process. Open this PDF to get started, and return to your dedicated Woodland dealer upon completion.
  • Work with your dealer/designer to set up a video call to discuss the project and create a design and rendering of your space. These calls can be facilitated through Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, or any other video conferencing tools.
  • Download the PDF Versions of our Literature to go through style, finish and color selections, and utilize our digital and social media channels (including our blog, Houzz, Instagram, website, Facebook) to find imagery that fits the style of your project. Your designer will be able to order you a sample or color chip.
  • Your project can be worked on remotely and make progress to a point where only a final measure will be required before order.

We understand this is an unsettling time for everyone, and we have faith we can overcome by working together.  Woodland Cabinetry is here to  support our dealer partners and our end customers. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

Thank You,

The Woodland Cabinetry Sales Team

Full MDF Shaker Doors (Opaque Finishes Only)

Say goodbye to joint seams on your Opaque Shaker Doors with our new Full MDF design. This unique sandwich construction is created with two pieces rather than the traditional five piece design. The result? A perfect painted Shaker door with no seams to distract in sight! Yes, we’re offering this in three stile sizes. Try it with our 2 3/8″, 3″, and our new Slimline door that gives you a sleek 5/8” stile and rail in a shaker door.

See below for a comparison between the classic Shaker Door (right) and our new Full MDF Shaker Doors (left).

New Dune Grey Stain

One of our favorite new releases: the Dune grey stain. It adds a soft greige wash over the woodgrain, giving it texture and interest while remaining sophisticated. This style could look great in a variety of homes from Modern Farmhouse, Traditional, Transitional, the list goes on!

New Dune Grey Stain on Walnut

4 New Urban Colors

Our laminate product line Urban has four new colors that are sure to please. These unique new hues offer a marbled color variation that will surely become a favorite. Use them in a modern, industrial, or contemporary space to add a pop of color and texture that will make an unforgettable statement.

Finishes You Already Love, on New Wood Species

You already love these finishes, so we thought we should offer them on more wood species that you also love. This stunning range of tones was created with the following combinations: Weathered on Hickory, Mocha on Alder (coming Q2 2020), Pewter on Hickory. All beautiful in their own unique right, we’re excited to expand our classic line of offerings with you.

Nero & Bianco – Now Stock Colors

TSS has the look and feel of real wood veneer but with much greater durability. Small children playing in the kitchen – no problem with an Artizen TSS kitchen. Due to their popularity, we added these black and white options to our stock colors.

If you love the look of reclaimed barnwood and want to add it to your upcoming cabinetry project, we’ve got you covered with our Rustic Farmstead and Reclaimed Patina products. This product line was developed by an all-natural finishing technique that we created at Woodland Cabinetry. It accelerates the wood’s natural aging process for a weathered appearance and added dimensionality. Each wood reacts to this process in it’s own unique way. We offer it in Rustic Alder, Rustic Hickory, and Rustic Oak. Every option will darken with age and exposure to sunlight, continuing to offer beautiful tonal variations throughout your finished cabinets for years to come.

Learn more about our finishes here.

Pictured left to right: Alder, Oak, Hickory.

This style has been a huge hit with our clients. They’ve shared amazing projects with us, and we want you to see them too. From kitchen islands, built-ins, to bathroom vanities – the ideas are endless with Rustic Farmstead and Reclaimed Patina.

Here are 6 Rustic Farmhouse cabinet ideas for your next project:

No. 1 – Contrasting Kitchen Island

If you’re going for a clean and sleek style with a nod to Modern Farmhouse design, adding just a pop of contrasting Reclaimed Patina can do the trick. We adore the impact that this look has on an island in a bright white kitchen. That look has been used by our designers in multiple homes and is tried and true. Other ways we’ve seen Reclaimed Patina used as a light contrast include: a range hood, floating shelves, or a “backsplash” of shiplap (see No. 4 to see what that looks like in action).

No. 2 – Color-Washed Kitchen Cabinets

Add a pop of color with our Reclaimed Patina Color Program. Developed more recently, it allows the designer to add hues of blue, red, green, grey, or “whitewash” while retaining that rough sawn texture and look. In many cases this amplifies the beauty and contrast within the woodgrain. As you can see from this example, this is the perfect choice for a colorful cabinet that’s still subtle and sophisticated.

No. 3 – Rustic Bathroom Vanity

There’s something so cozy and relaxing about a Rustic-style bathroom. The deep hues of this Rustic Hickory bathroom vanity we created looks just like authentic barnwood…but with a little more softness and elegance. Top it off with a big mirror, farmhouse sink, and dark bronze hardware and you’ve mastered the look.

No. 4 – Shiplap Transition

Okay, okay, we realize this isn’t a cabinet, but this shiplap transition was used on the adjacent wall to the cabinet in our header image. When going for a modern look, it can be nice to have “white space” on your walls. Using shiplap in a matching wood tone is a beautiful way to keep the space open while maintaining interest and texture.

No. 5 – Kitchen Office Nook

Too often the kitchen office nook becomes a dark corner of clutter in the home. Make it a place of beauty by creating custom cabinetry with our Reclaimed Patina Finish. We have a variety of Smart Organization products to design each drawer and cabinet to the specific needs of the homeowner. With everything tidy and beautiful woodgrain to match, we’re sure that sifting through the mail with be a much more pleasant task.

No. 6 – Bedroom Built-In

Have a small closet and a lot of clothes to organize? With endless customization options for drawers and shelf sizes, a bedroom built-in will be much easier to organize than a master closet. But adding a built-in to your bedroom doesn’t have to be a purely functional asset. It can be a beautiful design feature – shaping the style of the room.

Welcome to Woodland Cabinetry’s first blog post! We’re excited to announce that as a team, we’re going to start regularly posting here for your dose of cabinetry news. For this welcome blog we wanted to share why we’ve started this blog, who it’s for, and what you can expect from us. We’re confident that whoever and wherever you are on your cabinetry journey, our blogs are going to help you take your remodeling projects to the next level.

THE WHY.

While we typically like to work with our hands and talk with you directly, in the past year we learned the value of connecting with you digitally, too. We started posting to Instagram and Facebook and were in awe of the community that’s grown and all of the projects you’ve shared that we may have never seen without social – thank you for contributing! This blog is an important way to expand on that community and find more ways to connect with you. We’ll also share behind-the-scenes stories about our cabinetry and the projects we’re sharing.

THE WHO.

With the blend of content we’re planning, this blog will be useful for everyone! Of course, our main goal is to support our dealers and designers. But we want to make sure that along with informative articles that go deep into cabinetry details, we offer blogs that you can use as a tool with your clients to help find their design preferences and guide them in the right direction to a project everyone can be proud of.

THE WHAT.

We have three main posts we want to focus on: project highlights, informative articles, and inspirational posts. Project highlights will showcase beautiful remodels and the story behind the design. Informative posts will focus more on our dealers and designers. For these, we’ll get into the nitty gritty details of our cabinetry, and feature helpful tips and guidance on picking the ideal specifications. Inspirational posts will highlight projects that follow a certain style or type of cabinetry, such as Reclaimed Patina, Bright White, or Shiplap. These inspirational posts will be great for dealers, designers and clients looking for visual aid in choosing cabinetry details.

So there you have it. We’re excited for you to join us on this new digital journey. Our next blog will be in a couple weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.
